the nationals. tonight, the nationals had a chance to return the favor thanks to a little help from the braves. their guys couldn't get anything going. kyle kendricks was dominant. but in pittsburgh, the pirates came through. a brave's lost also meant a national league east title. fans in d.c. found out immediately as the team went back into the dug out. everybody started celebrating and then it was time for the champagne to flow. the nats, your 2012 national league east champions. >> you've been dreaming about this, i'm sure, for years. is it what you imagined it would be? >> we have a great group of guys. i love everyone on this team. for the first time, this is pretty unbelievable. it's speechless. >> reporter: that's bryce harper. he's only 19 years old. he celebrated not with champagne, not with beer, but with apple cider. 23 cases of champagne was used in the celebration. here's a t-shirt that everybody's wearing tonight here at the park and everybody is going to be looking for in the near future all over washington, d.c. for more, ericgonzalez outside the park. >> all right. thanks a lo
their fans at around 9:45 when the pittsburgh pirates up in pittsburgh beat the atlanta braves. so with that the nats became the national league east champions. here, this is from masn what it looked like inside. the place went nuts. it was between the top and bottom of the 9th inning here and the nats are down 2-0 at the point, but because the braves lost in pittsburgh the nats are nl east champs. take a look at these people, going crazy still. , but the braves' loss was the magic no. 1. braves lose. they win the nl east title. this is kind of the little trophy that i got, the t-shirt, the nl east division title t- shirt. they got something much better, the twist title itself. let's show you some of the earlier celebration -- the nl east title itself. let's show you some of the earlier celebration. they pop open the champagne and the goggles are out, but they couldn't keep it to themselves. they wanted to celebrate with the fans at nationals park. gio gonzalez was the first out of the dugout. jayson werth soon followed, the entire team enjoying with the fans. of course, the fans chanting with the players. they even made their rounds around the field giving high five's to everybody in reach. bryce harper, gio gonzalez all enjoying this moment, of course. they are now enroute to the playoffs with the division title in hand. let's listen to zimmerman following the game. >> reporter: well prepared for the champagne shower and they just never stop coming. aren't you worn out? >> but to go through that and come out on top with these guys i

there bravely getting into the water. it's quite cold. and there is a san francisco man arrested for kidnapping a 9-year-old girl is now facing new charges. >> this 25-year-old accused in a second incident this one in daily city. and according to prosecutors he hid in a bathroom and took inappropriate photos of 9-year-old girls by reaching underneath the stall. is he in jail for groping another 9-year-old and carrying her off campus. investigators say she reported the crime. >> gloria allred is joining the sexual misconduct case against a alleged teacher james hooker who left his wife and kids to move in way former student. hooker facing felony sex assault charges filed by another former student. >> now, oakland police are investigating another fatal shooting that just happened. >> shots rang out this afternoon on the 1500 block of 57th avenue. and this is the fifth murder in oakland in less than 24 hours. around 6:00 two men were shot while sitting in a van then two men shot dead within an hour and a half on mcarthur boulevard. >> there are supporters and family of 18-year-old alan blueford ar
